CGL 2016 Pattern clarification for once and for all:

Exam is in 3 parts with same syllabus as earlier:
(T-1 and T-2 in Computer Based test and T-3 in offline mode)
Tier-1: 200 marks with 100 ques (75 min)
Tier-2 : Maths with 200 marks and 100 ques (120 min)
English with 200 marks and 200 ques (120 min)
Tier-3: Descriptive 100 marks for language skills (60 min)
* Wrong answers carries a 1/4 penalty of weight-age of the correct answer. For 1 mark ques, the negative marking would be -0.25, and for 2 marks ques, the negative marking would be -0.5.
* Negative marking only for T-1 and T-2.
* Marks of T-3 depends on the evaluation by invigilator(just like in school exams).
Marks of every Tier shall be counted for making the final merit out of 700 marks. (T-1 200 marks, T-2 400 marks and T-3 100 marks totaling as 700 marks)
Every tier carries marks to be counted in the final merit. Also, you need to QUALIFY every tier to appear for next tier. For eg if T-1's cutoff is 140, then you need to score more than or equal to 140 in order to QUALIFY to appear in T-2.
* Subject Paper for AAO and Stats Investigator shall be conducted as per earlier schedule after conducting of these 3 tiers.
* NOTE: Candidates fretting over advantage/disadvantage to a particular area please be aware that all SSC exams, all the tiers are/were always conducted in 2 language options: Hindi and English.
And if you feel a candidate can beat you by opting Hindi in descriptive exam. Then trust me guys, someone who is so poor at english(so as to opt for hindi in T-3) would not be able to clear Tier-1 and Tier-2: both comprising of 250 marks of English out of 600.
My sincere request to please stop fretting over non-existing issue. Don't go by any rumors. Concentrate on studies.
P.S: If anyone is still not able to comprehend the changes, then he/she may please appear for MTS/CHSL or other lower level exams.
